Our family business Donabaum has always stood for pleasure all around, in the highest quality.
Since 1966 we have been vinifying varietal wines from the best Wachau vineyards, which you can taste at the winery, the winetavern our in the wine store “Strawanzer”.
Our Buschenschank, or Heuriger as it is called here, invites you to a cozy get-together with local specialties.

SPITZ AND THE WACHAU: GREAT VINEYARDS AND EXQUISITE VARIETY
The town of Spitz in the heart of the world-famous Wachau region is one of the oldest settlements in Lower Austria. Impressive terraced sites and the Tausendeimerberg, visible from afar, form the unique backdrop here for a wine and wellness landscape that attracts thousands of culture and leisure enthusiasts year after year.
On a vineyard area of about 1400 hectares, the main varieties Grüner Veltliner and Riesling dominate above all, which come to their full development in our area. In December 2000, the Wachau was the only region along the Danube to be designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, making it one of the current ten Austrian World Heritage Sites and the nearly 1,100 cultural ensembles and sights worldwide awarded this designation.
