Spitz | Village Wine | Wachau DAC
The grapes for our Pinot Blanc thrive in the Gasslreith vineyard in Spitz, a southwest-facing vineyard site on the Hartberg hillside. This small vineyard requires almost exclusively manual work. Its unique soil composition and favourable exposure provide ideal conditions for producing wines of exceptional quality. Tasting Notes: Intense aromas of ripe pear and green walnuts, complemented by hints of lime, lemongrass and passion fruit. Beautifully soft and harmonious on the palate, with delicate brioche notes and a well-balanced interplay of sweetness and acidity. An elegant, medium-bodied finish with subtle herbal and ethereal nuances. Ratings: Pending -
Our Sauvignon Blanc vines grow in the Kobel vineyard, a hillside site with terraced slopes in Willendorf, in the Wachau, not far from Spitz.
Cool breezes from the Danube lend fruitiness and finesse to this Sauvignon Blanc, traditionally vinified in stainless steel tanks. Tasting Notes: Delicate aromas of white peach, lemon balm and subtle hints of gooseberry. Notes of yellow bell pepper and gentle vegetal nuances add complexity. Vibrant acidity brings a lively, zesty character, while the rich fruit flavours linger beautifully on the finish. Ratings: Pending -

The Neuburger grape variety is rarely cultivated due to its demanding vineyard management. Nevertheless, it holds a special place in our region, as the variety originated in Spitz. Tasting Notes: Bright fruit aromas, juicy richness and notes of ripe apple, exotic fruits and delicate nuttiness. Vibrant fruit freshness, beautifully balanced and crisp, with a clear and expressive fruit character. An elegant style with hints of white peach on the finish. Truly outstanding!
